Common questions
Does composite decking get hot in Utah summers?
All decking gets warm in direct sun, and darker colors get hotter. Lighter colors, capped PVC lines and a pergola or shade sail make a big difference on west-facing decks.
Which is better, Trex or TimberTech?
Both are excellent. Trex offers great value and a wide color range. TimberTech AZEK PVC boards run cooler and lighter and carry longer warranties at a higher price. We bring samples so you can compare in person.
How long does a composite deck last?
Most composite decking carries a 25 to 50 year manufacturer warranty against fading and staining, depending on the line. The framing underneath is what usually determines how long a deck lasts, which is why we protect it.
Do composite decks need maintenance?
No sanding, staining or sealing. Wash it with soap and water or a low-pressure rinse a couple times a year and clear snow with a plastic shovel.
