Deck replacement: full tear-out and rebuild
Utah's snow and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on decks. When yours is worn out, we tear it out completely and build a new one from the footings up.
Signs it's time to replace your deck
- Soft, spongy or bouncy spots when you walk
- Loose or wobbly railing or stairs
- Rot at the posts, ledger board or joists
- Cracked, warped or splintering boards
- Rusty or popped fasteners and connectors
- Gaps where the deck meets the house

What a rebuild includes
- Full demolition and haul-away of the old deck
- New footings and framing, built to current code
- New TimberTech decking, railing and stairs
- Our 7-year workmanship warranty
A rebuild is also a chance to rethink the layout. See our custom deck design process or composite options.

Common questions
Do you repair decks or replace boards on an existing frame?
No. We build new decks and do full tear-out and rebuilds. Starting from new footings and framing is the only way we can stand behind the whole deck with our 7-year workmanship warranty.
Can a heavy winter damage my deck?
Yes. Heavy snow loads, ice and freeze-thaw cycles can crack boards, loosen fasteners and damage framing and footings. If you see sagging, bouncy spots or loose railing, it is time to plan a replacement.
What happens to my old deck?
We tear it out completely and haul it away, then build the new deck from new footings and framing up, to current code.
